Marketplace & Seller Compliance Policy
Policy details regarding seller disclosures, FSSAI requirements, regulatory compliance, and platform audits.

8.1 Marketplace role
BuyDesi provides a technology marketplace connecting buyers and sellers. The final allocation of product, seller, payment, consumer and delivery responsibilities should be documented in the applicable transaction and seller agreements.
8.2 Seller disclosures
Sellers should provide required legal/business details, product information, applicable manufacturer/packer details, price/charge information, customer-care/grievance information and other disclosures required by applicable law and BuyDesi onboarding.
8.3 Product compliance
Sellers must ensure that products comply with applicable Indian laws and category requirements, including labelling, weights/measures, food, cosmetics, consumer protection, tax, safety and intellectual-property requirements where applicable.
8.4 Prohibited and restricted products
BuyDesi may maintain a prohibited/restricted-product catalogue and may require additional verification or licences for regulated categories.
8.5 Reviews and claims
Sellers must not create or manipulate fake reviews, ratings or testimonials and must not make false, misleading or unsubstantiated product claims.
8.6 Consumer protection
Where applicable, sellers must provide benefits and remedies required by law and the BuyDesi return/refund framework for defective, deficient, adulterated, spurious, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming products.
8.7 Compliance records
BuyDesi may retain seller and transaction records required for fraud prevention, audits, complaints, settlements and legal compliance.
8.8 Compliance actions
BuyDesi may suspend listings, require corrective action, hold or adjust settlements where contractually permitted, restrict accounts or take other lawful measures for serious or repeated compliance failures.
